Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn was born in the United States. Her most well-known role is her role as Skyler White in the AMC drama series Breaking Bad for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. Her other roles include Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in 1968 Anna Gunn fell in love with acting during Preparatory School, before her family relocated to Ohio during the latter part of 1970. Her studies in theatre were through Northwestern University. A semester was taken at the British American Drama Academy. Anna began her journey in Chicago and worked in theater role for several years. After that, she relocated to Hollywood, where she began her acting career in movies and television shows. In 1992, Anna was offered her first big part as Arden in 29 episodes of Down the Shore. She continued to appear as guest stars on a number of television series and movies, including Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue through the mid 90's when she was cast in a recurring role in the role of Jean Ward in The Practice. In the mid 2000's she was placed in Deadwood as Martha Bullock for two full seasons. In 2008, she was picked as Skyler on Breaking Bad. Sully as well as Deadwood was a different film that she was a part of. Gunn has also appeared on the stage for David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. She was also a part of the podcast audio drama of four episodes Numbered days, which was launched in 2022. Breaking Bad is often centered on the relationships of Walter White with his wife Skyler. Their relationship is strained and eventual end resembles the end of Walter White's story.
